Dorian & Thomas
It was such a beautiful day that I took everyone to the park to fire some guns...since that seems to be a popular hobby with this crew. It's begining to to feel a bit like Midsummer Night's Dream around here with all the "love" triangles, but hey, it makes for entertaining times! :) I managed to get everyone in this story, which is a first! I hope you enjoy :)

So I really wanted to take these pictures yesterday. Of course, by the time I got home from work the sun had gone down so the lighting in all of the pictures was indoor overhead lights and without the flash everything was a yellowish orange color, so I had to try my hand at recoloring pictures. I don't think I did too bad, if I do say so myself, but you can still tell that the lighting was overhead and harsh. ANYWAY...this was so much fun to make after all that drama we just went through around here. I hope you enjoy! :D

Sitting here watching Gauken Heaven...snuggling up to Zuko. I've been forcing Eric to watch episodes of the Avatar so he can understand my fascination with Prince Zuko. I told him that Zuko just gets cuter as the series goes on. He stared at me for a moment and then said, "Oh goodie" LOL I choose to ignore the palpable sarcasm dripping from that statement and assume that he is really excited to learn to love Zuko. Of course, sitting here with Zuko reminds me that I need to restring his arms...sigh...I'll get to it eventually.

War Wounds

So I got Mie'Aga's dolls that I'm babysitting for the year on Thursday but didn't get a chance to assemble them until Friday night. It took me about 5 hours from the time I popped the top of the box until the time that everyone was put together and clothed...which I felt pretty good about considering that I've only assembled Thomas twice in my life and I had help from Mie'Aga both times. I started with Georgia and Bruce, since they are both Iple House, which is what Thomas' body is, I felt that they would be the easiest (i.e. the most familiar). I had to adjust my stringing tool repeatedly, the end was too fat to go through many of the various dolls openings. Especially E.C. and Zuko. Both of these were a total pain in the ass, it seemed like the strings were too big for the holes, but I got them to work eventually. When I was pulling Molly's S-hook up through her head, my vice grips slipped on the metal and I knocked myself in the face...right between the eyes, and I think my thumb actually went into my right eye. I was bleeding a bit, and my eye was SOOOO sore. But I couldn't help but appreciate the fact that Molly made me bleed...I'm sure that pleased her ;)

Everyone is settling in...some better than others. Molly, Bruce and Zuko seem just fine, Georgia and E.C. have been glaring at me for days (See Woe Are We story). LOL

As anticipated, Thomas is thrilled to have company and Dorian is happy to meet some, and not so friendly to others. Although, he seems to really like Molly, which surprised me since she's a girl (see Molly Got a Gun story). He's just now starting to open up around Becky and that's only because she comforted him (see Missing Lighter story). But it seems to be because with Molly what you see is what you get. She isn't coy like a lot of women, he doesn't feel like she has a hidden agenda with him. Anyway, I'm having tons of fun as I'm sure you'll see with my next few posts. I got clothes for the girls yesterday from my Dad, so I'll be putting them on E.C. and Georgia today as a peace offering ;) giggle...

Am in the mountains and got inspired :) enjoy!

Were are you oh dreams of my youth?
our time together was so sweet and yet so short
I thought you would stay with me forever
I intended to keep you clasped to my heart
but somehow you slipped through my fingers
just as the sands of time flow through my clenched fists
new dreams have replaced you
new desires flow on
The only evidence of your existencs is the residue left in my heart
the only trace are the grains of hope left in my hand

In the Garden

I went to visit my best friend over the weekend and got to take some pictures of the boys. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and had to take them with my phone, BOO! Anyways, Thomas was in a touchy-feely mood (everytime I set them down Thomas was leaning into Doian, no matter how I tried to straighten him out). So poor Dorian was forced to snuggle with the object of his unrequited affection. I was really worried about him and was about to force Thomas to leave him alone but Dorian insisted that it was fine (I think he liked the excuse to be close to Tommy). here are some pictures of them together in her garden. The lighting started out great, but turned too bright as the morning went on so some of the later pictures are a little over exposed.

Discovering Anime

Dorian & Thomas
Ok so, I'm not sure why it took me so long to discover the joys of anime, but I must say I'm LOVING it! I've watched nearly all of the shows that Deedee-chan and Parker sent home with me. I'm completely obsessed with Loveless I ran right out and borrowed the manga from the library and I'm going to buy it with my textbooks this semester since there are only eight volumes at the moment. Can't wait for volume nine...it was expected to come out around July but no sign yet. DAMN YOU TOKYOPOP! Don't they know that I got needs? LOL All I can say is thank God for mangafox.com.

In addition to loving Ritsuka and Soubi, I've also fallen head over heels for Prince Zuko from The Avatar...I'm pretty sure we were meant for each other. Of course there is one small problem with that theory. No, it's not the fact that he's a fictitious animated character. Animated characters and live people have long since coexisited, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is a perfect example. And no, it isn't the fact that I'm married, I'm pretty sure Eric would understand if I give him enough vodka. The real problem as I see it is the fact that Zuko seems to be in love with his girlfriend and she is a dagger-flinging assassin, I'm pretty sure she could take me. Sigh, I guess I'll have to admire from afar. ;)

Anyway, I'm having lots of fun!

Had the Farmer Family reunion out at Auntie's ranch and thought I'd take some pictures for my sissy. Kyland has been making cainmail for ages now, but he made this really cool vest by linking popcan tabs. I thought it was seriously awesome, so there are a lot of pictures. I also asked him what he'd charge to make a chainmail shirt for Thomas and Silas (my new DSAM Saint...I'm not sure this is his name, but it seems to be at the top of my mind right now). I think I may be getting dolly chainmail for Christmas :D

500 Days of Summer

All I can say is that this movie is AMAZING!!! I loved it. It was sweet, funny, sad and charming all in one. I highly recommend it to everyone, especially if you've ever had a break up with someone you love, it hits pretty close to home. Not to mention that they used a great cinematic techniques. All in all, it was a fabulous movie.

I went to see it with my friend Kristina. We are coworkers, but also good friends. It was so nice to spend time with her. I just haven't had time to spend with friends lately but I decided that since it was my birthday weekend, I was going to make time.

Tomorrow I'm going to Denver to meet up with my best friend Shanada. We're going to hang out downtown and then go to see Harry Potter! YIPPEEE!!! it will be a fabulous Birthday. Eric refuses to see Harry Potter with me, so it'll be nice to see it with someone who will enjoy it as much as me (Eric would be a wet blanket).

That's right, you heard me...I just sent payment for my very own Dollshe OE Saint on an DSAM 32s body. WHOOT WHOOT!!!!

Ren Fest Musings

  • Aug. 2nd, 2009 at 10:48 AM
Neuzchwanstein
Taken from my Facebook page: "Stacey "Farmer" Brigham spent the day at Ren Fest. Entrance tickets, $32, Henna Tattoo, $35, Wrist cuffs, $24, the look on Eric's face when I tried on a blue corset, priceless! (note: we bought the corset ;o))"

It was such a fun day, I love Ren Fest and this was the last weekend, so it was even more lively than usual (super crowded too). The wrist cuffs were for Eric, I LOVE leather wrist cuffs on a man but never thought he'd go for it (he's a tad more conservative than me, but I tend to think of him as WAY more conservative than me...I don't give him enough credit I guess). Anyway, we were walking around and I asked if there was anything he wanted. He said , "well, how about the leather bracelets, I've always liked them and there something that I'd wear more than once a year." I just about peed my pants with excitement. So,we went around to every leather shop in the festival and bought him two wrist cuffs...i'm in heaven!

The blue corset was really fun too...at one store I was looking at corsets and one of the ladies said, "Those are not going to fit you...." (brief moment of panic takes hold as I'm certain I'm about to be called fat) "They are extra large and I'd move you all the way down here to the mediums, you might even be a small" (HALLELUIA!!! The angels sing!!!) so when we got to the store with the blue corset, I grabed a medium and tried to get it on, but couldn't quite get it so I asked the lady to help. She turned me around pulled the strings and said, "this is too big for you, you need a small" I'm sure I was glowing at that point. Once I was all cinched in, I asked Eric if he liked it and he nodded emphatically (he's abit like Chad from Bleach, doesn't speak if a gesture says the same thing :D). So I asked if he liked it well enough for us to buy it since it was a l ittle pricey, he didn't even hesitate and said emphatically "YES!" (he used words this time ;)).

Such a fun day. but now I have to do homework....BOO!

Sorry Bruce, Mags caught me in the act...

I love this picture of Thomas. Last Sunday we went to Denver and Garden of the Gods for some pictures for a reply to Mie'Aga but I've been to busy to post it, so here's my favorite picture from the day. Thomas is pouting, which I've never been able to capture on film before even though it is not a rare occurance :o) Enjoy!
